Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Financial Budget Coach
Financial Budget Coaches assist people get off the road to financial crisis. Coaches help clients make positive changes to their financial well-being, work with the client's unique financial circumstance, help clients get a clear picture for financial goals, and customize a financial plan for clients. The types of issues you would be helping would include: too many bills and/or debt, layoffs, credit issues, living paycheck to paycheck, poor financial choices, assessing "want" vs. "need".
Special requirements include; background checks, application, personal references and interview. Driving records will also be required for those who will drive on behalf of CCE.
Training is provided. You will be required to attend a 12 hour initial training course, then shorter annual updates.

Volunteers make a difference!
AmeriCorps Seniors of Steuben County provides opportunities for people ages 55 and over to make a significant impact in their communities through volunteering. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few hours a month to over 40 hours a week serving in their communities. Opportunities to serve include volunteering at local hospitals and nursing homes, schools, food pantries, public safety programs, and other nonprofit agencies and organizations. RSVP staff assist volunteers in sharing their experience, abilities and skills for the betterment of the community and themselves. Volunteer orientation, on-site training, supplemental insurance (while on duty), and mileage reimbursement are free services available for RSVP volunteers.
