The Museum is looking for active outgoing volunteers to become museum Docents! Conduct tours for visitors of all ages! Times vary based on tours. No experience required, we are willing to train anyone interested to learn. Volunteers receive benefits such as free general admission, and a discount in the museum gift shop. Any questions please contact volunteer@carrouselmuseum.org

There is a minimum of a 50 hour commitment to be trained as a docent.

Mission Statement

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, operated by the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier, is a premier national historic site and community resource for family recreation that fosters an appreciation for the unique heritage of the carousel and related industries in the Niagara Region.

Description

The Carrousel Museum is housed in the original Allan Herschell Co. factory building. It presents demonstrations and exhibits which interpret this history, has two operating antique carousels, a Children's Gallery for hands-on learning activities and a wonderful gift shop. Special events are presented monthly and include a Renaissance Faire in the Spring and a young children's Halloween Party in October.
