PLEASE READ before expressing interest in volunteering with us: Volunteers are invited to socialize, walk, bathe and play with dogs while talking to potential adopters to help find forever-homes for dogs of all breeds, age and size. Come have fun while helping out!! We have regular events every Saturday at Pet Food Express in Petaluma (1st Saturday of the month), Novato Downtown (2nd Saturday of the month), San Rafael (3rd Saturday of the month), and Novato Hamilton (4th Saturday of the month). Mission Statement
In Northern California, to provide the rescue, adoption and population control services necessary to ensure all companion animals in the North Bay a stable and loving home in which to complete a natural lifespan.
To improve the quality of relationships between people and pets, so that they stay together, with emphasis on training, vaccinations, and alteration.
To support and lead other animal protection and human service organizations, locally and across the country, with solid program models that help save animals and bring the healing touch of animals to local communities.
To create educational programs utilizing innovative methods to introduce the higher ideals of compassion toward animals and people, define responsible pet guardianship and make the case for the need to control companion animal overpopulation.
Description
Orphan Dog Rescue (formerly Lake County Animal Services) hosts dog adoption events every Saturday in Petaluma, Novato and San Rafael, CA with participation in additional special events or fairs.
