Program Volunteer

Program volunteers will be most involved with the day to day management and maintenance of our Center, and will work closely with the Program & Exhibition Manager as well as other program, communications, and administrative staff.

Tasks and positions may include, but are not limited to:
- Exhibitions: assist with planning exhibitions, opening receptions, film screenings and other visual arts related programming.
- Administrative: learn and assist with basic office tasks, and work with the different programs in our organization (how to update our website, setup an event online, input data and emails to CCC database, edit flyers and other promotional materials).
- Communications: work in marketing, outreach, and social media campaigns; promoting events and exhibitions; developing content for newsletters and our website.
- Gallery: get trained in gallery operations and be the public face of the Center. Greet visitors, take calls, make sales, and learn about each exhibition.
- Program: coordinate, develop, and maintain our educational and visual arts programs; serve as a liaison between teachers, docents, artists, and the public.
- Membership: learn about development, maintaining membership and donor database.Events: assist in planning and coordinating logistics for small and large-scale events.

Qualifications:
- Seeking motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individuals
- Able to work as a team member and independently
- Interest in Chinese and Chinese American art and culture, especially contemporary visual arts or history
- Interest in community building and nonprofits
- Excellent communication, research, and writing skills
- Able to multi-task in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and follow-through
- Familiarity with basic Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Gmail and Googledocs
- Familiarity with Wordpress, InDesign, Illustrator a plus
- Bilingual in Mandarin or Cantonese a plus

* We encourage early application for summer internships as positions fill quickly.

Schedule: Volunteers must commit a minimum of 15-20 hours/week for minimum 3 months.
