At Louisiana Hospice, we are always in need of people who are willing to give their time to provide our patients and staff with quality support. Our team is working to provide patients with excellent care, in hope of giving them a better quality of life. And our volunteers are a vital part of the hospice team! Volunteers assist us in providing our patients with meaningful relationships, along with valuable time and attention! Although a volunteer cannot provide medical care, the list of "cans" is plenty! When assisting a patient in home or facility, a volunteer can visit, read, assist with light housekeeping, cook, or maybe grocery shop, just to name a few! If direct patient interaction is not something a volunteer feels comfortable with, our office staff can also use volunteers to assist in filing, organizing, and special projects. The roles of a volunteer really are vast, and the rewards are abundant! Not only will you learn how to interact with patients and their families, but you will see true appreciation and get a glimpse of mercy. If you were ever looking for something meaningful to be a part of, do not pass this volunteer program by!
We are in need of volunteers to complete light housekeeping at patients home. Duties would dusting, sweeping, mopping, etc.
A volunteer never has to worry about being uncomforatble either, they work directly with our volunteer coordinator. The orientation and training will answer any questions you may have, and help you feel secure as a volunteer. We look forward to working with YOU!

LHC Group Hospice exists in the hope and belief that, through appropriate care and the support of a caring community sensitive to their needs, terminally ill patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death this is satisfactory to them.
LHC Group Hospice offers palliative care to all terminally ill patients and support to those patients and families without regard for diagnosis, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, race, creed, disability, age, place of residence, or ability to pay.
Description
LHC Group Hospice see death as a natural part of the life process. Our goal is to affirm a person's right to be in control of their life, to be free from pain, and to die with dignity. With the support or the hospice team, the psychological needs of the family and the terminally ill person are addressed. This allows them the opportunity to focus on maintaining quality of life during the last phases of an incurable disease.
We see it as a duty, both employees and volunteers, to become familiar with the mission of the organization and to articulate that mission to the community.
