Would you like to advance your office skills, make international friends, support your community, or improve your understanding of other cultures? Come join our amazing team at the Global Refugee Center! Role of the GRC: The Global Refugee Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to refugees of 23 different countries that are now living in Greeley, Colorado. We offer ESL, GED, citizenship, driving, and computer classes. We also assist the refugees in getting jobs, housing, finance, and health. Job Description: Answer phones, do data entry and maintain Case Management Log, manage printing and copying for staff/volunteers, make Bright Beginnings calls as needed, and make sure all rooms are opened/closed for the day. Manage the flow of the office by greeting clients and establishing an order to which clients are seen. Issue GRC bus tickets, GRC registration cards, and GRC diapers/supplies. Update bulliten boards as necessary and keep track of needed office supplies. Commitment: 2-3 Positions available. 9am-3pm, minimum of 3 days per week. At least 3 month commitment. Qualifications: Must be competent in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and have excellent communication skills. Must be a flexible self-starter. Description
The Global Refugee Center, Inc. (GRC) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit in Greeley, CO that educates, empowers, and advocates on behalf of the refugee population living in the community. The GRC promotes self-sufficiency in refugees by implementing programs in Education, Health, Finance, Culture, and Civil & Human Rights. The GRC's serves newcomers from 47 different countries in Africa, Asia, North and Central America who speak more than two dozen languages and practice at least four religions. GRC is entirely volunteer driven, with 3 full-time/2 part-time staff who dedicate their time without compensation and 60 other individuals who contribute anywhere from one hour a month to twenty hours a week. In the three and a half years since it's founding in 2008, the GRC has significantly impacted the lives of refugees living in Greeley and Weld County, Colorado.
