ORGANIZATION: Carolina Waterfowl Rescue

Working with a local food store in Indian Trail, NC, pick up left over fruits and vegetables between 9 and 9:30am, sort, and prepare for the birds in the Rescue by chopping/shredding.

We currently have an opening for someone for Thursday and for a "floater" to cover for vacation and sick days for other volunteers. Great for families or older adults who love animals, but who are not able to work directly with them. No children under age 10.

A. To provide a wild animal facility for the rescue, treatment, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife and other waterfowl; B. To educate the public about and to promote understanding of the local wildlife and their habitats; C. To promote the highest standards in all activities of the wildlife rehabilitator profession; E. To promote networking, communication, and cooperation among rehabilitators, wildlife organizations, and facilities on local, statewide, and national levels.

Description

Carolina Waterfowl Rescue is run by federally licensed migratory bird rehabilitators specializing in waterfowl and wading birds. We are licensed for all birds but due to time and financial constraints can only accept certain types of birds. We have opportunities for volunteers to work with a variety of species. CWR is an all-volunteer organization.
