Sports are a huge part of Senegalese culture and an important element of daily life. Soccer (football) and wrestling are the most popular national sports, and they attract an enormous following. MDG organizes regular soccer matches and local championships for Talib children of all ages, in sports fields that are available around the city.
MDG’s sports program is concerned not only with providing the Talib children with a healthful outlet for physical activity, but also with giving these children a rare opportunity to play and enjoy themselves as children. Volunteers interested in working in this program should have previous experience working with children in sports education. For health and safety reasons, candidates should be in good physical condition. They should also have excellent people and organizational skills.
