YTP, a program of Catholic Community Services, is an after-school program serving nearly 500 at-risk students in 1 st - 12 th grade who live in affordable public housing communities across Seattle. Our students come from diverse backgrounds--representing many nationalities, cultures, languages and religions. Our mission is to tutor, guide and inspire these youth to achieve academic success.
We are recruiting for two types of volunteer positions this summer:
Summer Program Volunteer:
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with elementary and middle school youth working on reading and writing skills through a variety of fun activities.
- Tutoring Sessions take place Monday-Thursday 3:15-7:00. Minimum commitment of 1.5 hours per week.
- The program runs from Monday July 11th - Friday, August 19th.
Tutoring Centers are located in the following five locations in Seattle:
High Point (West Seattle) - 6400 Sylvan Way Southwest
Rainier Vista(Rainier Valley)-4520 Martin Luther King Jr. Way South
Jackson Park (Lake City) - 14374 30th Northeast
Lake Washington Apartments (Rainier Beach) - 9061 Seward Park Avenue South

VOLUNTEER NOW
The Youth Tutoring Program (YTP) is an after-school educational enrichment program for vulnerable first through twelfth-grade students who live in six low- and mixed-income housing communities in Seattle. Started as a partnership with the Seattle Housing Authority in 1991, the tutoring centers provide youth with a safe, positive, and stimulating environment to explore learning and experience academic and personal success.
