ORGANIZATION: National MS Society - Greater Carolinas Chapter

Position: The Special Events Intern works directly with the Chapter’s Development staff to assist event coordinator in planning and promoting events. Responsibilities: Event Planning; Contact vendors as needed to move event logistics forward; Work with committees and/or key volunteers to move crew tasks forward; Expected to attend a few planning committee meetings (during the evening); Organize & purchase supplies for event as needed; Help to establish logistics for the events as needed; Work with training ride coordinators to fulfill supply needs; Public Relations/Marketing; Produce ads and PSAs as needed to fulfill media partnerships for events; Work with staff to create copy for and update the website; Assist with recruitment/fundraising email blasts; Create post event mailings; Design/layout event newsletters. Skills Needed: Detail oriented Creative, some graphic design experience helpful. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher. Great written and verbal communication skills. Unpaid internship. Full time or part-time within regular business hours (9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday). MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn’t. The Greater Carolinas Chapter, with offices located in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte, NC, serves over 18,000 individuals affected by MS in North and South Carolina. We help each person address the challenges of living with MS and raise funds for MS research. Our vision is a World Free of MS!
