Position: The Special Events Intern works directly with the Chapter’s Development staff to assist event coordinator in planning and promoting events. Responsibilities: Event Planning; Contact vendors as needed to move event logistics forward; Work with committees and/or key volunteers to move crew tasks forward; Expected to attend a few planning committee meetings (during the evening); Organize & purchase supplies for event as needed; Help to establish logistics for the events as needed; Work with training ride coordinators to fulfill supply needs; Public Relations/Marketing; Produce ads and PSAs as needed to fulfill media partnerships for events; Work with staff to create copy for and update the website; Assist with recruitment/fundraising email blasts; Create post event mailings; Design/layout event newsletters. Skills Needed: Detail oriented Creative, some graphic design experience helpful. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher. Great written and verbal communication skills. Unpaid internship. Full time or part-time within regular business hours (9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday).
