You can make a difference to support our patients in the final stages of a terminal disease. Opportunities for those with a strong sense of empathy and compassion to provide patient companionship, support, homemaking, errands, and caregiver relief, bread bakers, teddy bear sewers, bereavement phone calls. Sacred Heart Hospice, A Service of Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, also appreciates those with special talents; barbers, musicians, art therapists, massage therapists, prayer shawl knitters, bakers, teddy bear sewers, etc. Patients reside in their homes, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living and Personal Care homes.

Sacred Heart Hospice, SpiriTrust Lutheran. is a faith-based, not for profit organization that has been serving our friends and neighbors in south central and northeastern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland since the late 1970s. Our professional, compassionate caregivers bring skilled home health services, in-home care, hospice care, and grief counseling directly to your home or the home of a loved one.
We are committed to reinvesting our resources in to staff development, care delivery and state-of-the-art health care technologies, including telemonitoring programs. This approach means LHCH clients receive the most innovative care, delivered by local caregivers, in the privacy of their own home.

Description
Volunteers are the heart of a non-profit, faith based organization like Sacred Heart Hospice-SpiriTrust Lutheran. Our volunteers enjoy the role they play in caring for older adults and families in south central and northeastern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. They feel a great sense of personal satisfaction devoting their time and talents to helping others. An added benefit is that recent studies show volunteering results in lower rates of depression and less incidence of heart disease for the volunteer!
