Veterans! People love to hear your stories and we need your experience and knowledge! Positions are available in aircraft restoration for our 35 warbirds, or as guides for our visitors! We have an active aircraft restoration program--no museum experience needed. Our volunteers include many retired military aviation technicians who are glad to have help and teach their skills. Help us preserve the aviation history of North Texas and inspire youngsters to stay in school and achieve their full potential.

About Fort Worth Aviation Museum

Location:

3300 Ross Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76106, US

Mission Statement

"Giving Wings to Youth and Community through education, inspiration and our aviation roots."

Description

Fort Worth Aviation Museum is an aviation history museum and air park located on historic Meacham Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. We feature 35 of the most touchable military warbirds in Texas on static display. We provide free guided tours through our museum and air park by knowledgeable docents, many of whom are veterans. We also offer tailored programs for youth, seniors, and other groups.

We rely on our programs, museum admissions, museum store, and donations to cover our operational costs. In addition, groups are able to rent our facility for special events. We are a year-round Blue Star Museum and offer free admission to active military personnel and their families year-round.

We had over 14,000 visitors to the museum in 2023, including our community outreach programs taking helicopters to community events on trailers. We also have an active aircraft restoration program. No experience needed; our volunteers include many retired military aviation technicians who are glad to have help and teach their skills. Managing our collection and maintaining our displays are ongoing activities under the direction of our museum professional operations director and staff. And, of course, we are always looking for ways to expand the museum through grants, fundraisers, and development programs.

Although we are a professional, rapidly growing museum, celebrating our 25th anniversary, our volunteers are family and make our museum a fun place to meet and share our stories and programs with our visitors, young and old.
