The International Rescue Committee is partnering with IVAN GALINDO ART STUDIO SUMMER CAMP in recruiting volunteers for a 10 week period to assist in a summer camp project geared towards assisting children from low income families.
We are seeking committed, dedicated, responsible, reliable, and flexible volunteers able to start from June 11, 2012 to August 17, 2012.
The hours of operation of the summer program are from 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday-Friday. Volunteers will either commit to a morning or afternoon shifts, hours are flexible
The volunteers will work directly with the children (Ages 5-13), supervising the activities and giving creative ideas. We are going to have a schedule for the activities that could be changed according to what children demand.
Children will participate in field trips, water games activities, basketball, fitness, drama, dance, arts & crafts and other creative activities throughout the week.
Our goal is that the children enjoy their vacation having a fun summer camp. This is the time of the year when they want to relax and have fun. Along with this we encourage respect, avoid bullying and develop their self-esteem.
Community services hours will be provided to volunteers who need to fulfill any service hour requirements.
