About Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council

Location:

26571 Hwy 18, Suite C, P.O. Box 303, Rim Forest, CA 92378, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to preserve our local natural and manmade resources by mobilizing property owners, full and part-time residents and visitors to make their homes, neighborhoods and communities fire safe.

Description

The Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council has its roots in citizens coming together to address issues of community fire safety which arose after the 1997 Mill Fire.

The original fire safe council on the mountaintop, MRFSC has been successful in promoting education, communication and cooperation to make our environment FIRE SAFE. With grant funds, it has completed several major fuel reduction projects, demonstration forest sites, held neighborhood chipper days and valuable town meetings. The Council also acts as a conduit between our agency partners USFS, CDF , local fire districts and the community, keeping residents informed about agency efforts related to fire safety and preparedness.

MRFSC has also been a leader in outreach programs to encourage and develop new fire safe councils and is proud to be a part of the Inland Empire Fire Safe Alliance.
