Coffee lovers, rejoice! Julia’s Coffee needs your help! We are searching for volunteers to assist staff baristas in running the cash register, making coffee, cleaning, and stocking. Experience in a coffee shop is not needed, just a friendly face with a knack for customer service! Apply today at: http://www.charlotterestore.org/volunteer/volunteer-application

Responsibilities:

  • Run the Cafe register
  • Fill customer orders, including coffee, tea, soda, and some espresso beverages (additional training required)
  • Assist in cleaning the bar, cabinets, floors, caf tables, and restrooms

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy of Habitat for Humanity
  • Excellent customer service, with a good-natured and friendly attitude
  • Patient and cooperative attitude
  • Ability to work closely with staff, donors, volunteers, and customers
  • Ability to bend, squat, and lift at least 30-40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Past work experience with customer/public interaction is strongly preferred
  • After a 3-4 week "audition" period, a long-term commitment is needed

When:
Tuesday: 1pm-4pm
Thursday:9am-1am, 1pm-4pm
Friday: 9am-1pm, 1pm-4pm

Through the selling of donated construction and home related items:

· Increase the number of homes built with low-income families through Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte.

· Prevent usable items from being put in landfills.

· Provide quality building materials to the general public at discounted prices.

Description

The ReStore is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte- individuals and coporations donate building materials, appliances, and home furnishings, and these items are sold to the public. Proceeds are used to build homes in partnership with needy families in the Charlotte area.
