ORGANIZATION: Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry Young Parents Program

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

ABCCM Our Circle program follows a national campaign found at MovetheMountain.org to make a sustainable impact in the Asheville Buncombe County Community.

Allies (volunteer mentors) and Staff encourage young families to work their way out of poverty; empowered as productive citizens providing for their children. Parents are provided with training and education opportunities, meals and childcare to assist in their search for employment.

Mentors (allies, friends, companions) make it all possible. Allies work along side parents to give them emotional support. As an ally you are provided training on understanding poverty, childcare is provided during training, and meals are shared in community with parents. This is a transformational experience.

Classes take place at 207 Coxe Avenue, Asheville. New in 2014, the program will work closely with Asheville Public Housing Authority to provide services where our families live.
