In many cases, our refugee clients arrive to the United States with nothing more than a small suitcase or the clothes on their backs. Our donation room acts as an additional resource to supplement their clothing, childcare, basic food, and household needs for all ages and genders. Volunteers are needed on a daily bases to provide organizational support and maintenance of the donation room. This also includes assisting with cataloging, inventory, and distribution needs.

Providing recently arrived refugees with the resources, referrals and guidance needed to build successful, self-sufficient lives in Texas. With public and private sector support, we continue to serve clients from trouble spots the world over, such as: Burma, Bhutan, the Middle East, and Africa.
Description
Refugee Services of Texas is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit agency affiliated with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), Church World Service (CWS) and Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM). Since 1978, RST has successfully resettled more that 15,000 refugees. Currently we have offices in: Amarillo, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston.
All volunteers need to complete an orientation session with the volunteer coordinator prior to involvement.
