Books for America needs volunteers to help sort through the thousands of donated used books we receive each week. Our warehouse is in Fairfax, VA, 25 minutes outside of Washington, DC. We have thousands of books coming in each week - it's a lot of fun sorting through them and seeing what comes in! Pretty much a used book lover's paradise. This is a great event for groups!
The warehouse is not metro accessible, but we do have plenty of free parking. We work from 9am to Noon, every Saturday. Please call 703.323.0152 or send an email to volunteer@booksforamerica.org if you're interested in signing up. Must be at least 16 years old and able to lift boxes that are 20-30lbs.

**We require a minimum of 4 volunteers for each Saturday to confirm the event. So should we not get enough people signed up we may have to reschedule**

Description
Books for America is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Washington, D.C.. We distribute donated new and used books of all types; movies; music and instructional cd's; audiobooks; and more to organizations in the local Washington, DC area serving economically, socially, or physically disadvantaged communities and individuals. Recipients include hospitals, inner-city and rural schools, assisted living communities for seniors, adult literacy programs, V.A. hospitals, youth centers, women's shelters, hospices, and other such organizations. We obtain needed items both from donation drives held in communities, and also directly from publishers. Items you wish to donate could also be shipped directly to us.
