Festival Wheel
The Ferris Wheel is always an attraction!

Reporting to the Fair Chair, the Entertainment Team & Director will endeavor to provide quality musical entertainment to patrons of the Festival, based on guidance from the committee. Will participate in the group selection process, and coordinate with groups once selected. They will also assist with marketing, coordinate sound equipment/team, and during the festival control the flow of groups and stage movements. May also coordinate activities/acts to perform during down time between group changes. Attributes - who are we looking for: Experience in leadership role is a plus Experience with music or bands, and managing and supporting groups of people Ability to build relationships and work with volunteers, staff, and community members Strong language and communication skills (written and oral) Ability to speak to large groups Community service experience Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, and different genre’s of music Ability to work well independently and on a team Maturity and good judgment Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward helping others Empowered to establish a music sub-committee if needed.

Mission Statement

The Stafford County Agricultural Fair & Hartwood Days Festival Committee ("the Committee") exists to support and affirm the following charitable purposes:

  1. the education of youth primarily through those means which are used in Scouting, targeted experiential and educational activities (Agricultural Competitions, Trailblazer Program, etc.), and peripherally through other businesses and organizations acting as subject matter experts and

  2. the strengthening of ties within the community, between the people of the community, and those organizations which serve it.

Central to the youth educational mission of the committee is the fostering of creative potential and a love of the outdoors. The focus of the committee will be to provide a quality outdoor Festival, incorporating & combining service organizations of the community, businesses (both For Profit and Not for Profit), and youth organizations and educational opportunities in such a fashion as to provide opportunities for members of the community (of all ages) to attend, learn something, and enjoy themselves.

The committee serves as a reflection of the community, and the values fostered and promoted through scouting. The committee values diversity, and in accordance with committee membership policies, does not discriminate in leadership, admission or access to its programs and activities on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, religion, gender, marital status, handicap/disability, age and/or other non-merit factors. The Committee shall operate without profit, so that no part of its earnings or assets shall ever be distributed as a dividend or inure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual.

Description

A 501-C-3 Charity, this completely volunteeer run County Fair experience, incorporates experiential learning with empowering communities by connecting people with the businesses and organizations that provide services for them! Oh yeah....its a FREE event too! But in order to do this, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Although the Fair & Festival is always growing and evolving, it currently has an upper and lower event field, with vendors, & exhibitors, Rides, a Living History Area, an Agricultural Area, a First Responders Area, Free concerts to include the Saturday Lineup, a Saturday night Teen Jam, and the Sunday Afternoon Son-Jam, and runs the Trailblazer Adventure program and a Scout Badge Day. The 2013 event will add the Ms. Stafford Pageant.
