Are you interested in working with children? Do you have an artistic or creative side? Walk With Sally is launching their new "HeART to Home: An Expressive Arts program for Children who have lost a parent or sibling due to Cancer." This program is offered FREE to grieving children. We need your help! You don't have to be an artist! You just need the comittment to help a child heal in their time of grief and loss. We provide a 1-day training. After that, volunteers must comitt to 8 sessions with a child, 1x a month for 8 months. Sessions take place in the child's home so volunteers must be able to drive and also must pass a background check as well as meet other criteria. Description
Walk With Sally believes no child should walk alone in the face of a loved one's cancer journey. Because we don't want cancer to define or limit children for the rest of their lives, we create hope, healing and a supportive community through individualized mentoring, which transforms the lives not only of the children, but also of the families impacted by cancer.
