Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer

Join the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and the Lancaster Barnstormers as we raise money to help women and their families battling breast cancer.

This year, we are in need of Outfield Shaggers. Volunteers enjoy being out in the sun, want the chance to experience being on a minor league baseball field, don't mind being on their feet, but don't need to be able to catch or throw a ball! This might be a fun family activity to do with your kids.

Collect balls hit into the outfield and infield once they have landed and rolled to a stop
Carry or toss balls to a bucket by second base
Signal when a ball hits the outfield wall

Approximate timing is 8am-2pm with 2 shifts of volunteers needed. Times may vary and will be finalized closer to the event date. You will be notified by email with more details.

Does your employer have a volunteer incentive program? We’d love to see you and your co-workers out on the field as a group!

Mission Statement

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) represents, supports and serves breast cancer survivors and their families in Pennsylvania through educational programming, legislative advocacy and breast cancer research grants. The PBCC is a statewide nonprofit organization that creates the hope of a brighter tomorrow by providing action and information to women with breast cancer today.

Description

The PA Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) was formed in 1993 by a dedicated, active and effective group of breast cancer survivors who had one common mission: to find a cure for breast cancer. Every program, event and campaign is carried out with that goal in mind. Today, we are the source of action and information for Pennsylvania women with breast cancer and their families.

The PBCC is a statewide organization based in Lebanon County, with a board of directors, a staff of eight and a network of volunteers across the state. The PBCC exists to help the 9,500 women in this state who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, to support the families of the 2,200 women who will die from it and to serve as a resource for the hundreds of thousands more women currently living with the disease.
