children ages 5-15 are hoping for an adult friend, a couple or whole family who might want to include him or her in their lives. Just an hour or two aweek getting to know this child can make a huge difference in both of your lives. Giving back to the community in this way has a huge positive impact on our community. If you can make time we can match you with a great young person .

Mission Statement

Kinship Greater Twin Cities believes that every young person needs a role model. Kinship youth are matched with community mentors who foster supportive, holistic, and authentic relationships. Mentors and mentees are carefully matched based on common interests, aspirations and, when desired, faith connections. Kinship believes that the mentoring relationship is a mutually beneficial opportunity for all parties to grow. Kinship commits to providing resources and opportunities for youth and their families throughout the greater Twin Cities.

Description

Kinship actively invites individuals, couples and families into mentoring relationships with boys and girls ages 5-15. Focused on building lasting friendships through fun activities and quality time, the mentoring program creates sustained, supportive connections capable of giving youth the life skills they need to succeed. Kinship's mentoring model requires mentors to spend 2-4 hours per week with their mentee and are encouraged to participate in community events and activities centered around the youth's interests. Discovering new experiences together is also encouraged, opening the door for academic, social, and emotional growth. Life skills and work preparedness are also essential to our mentoring model, as well as optimism for the future and healthy living.
