Who says volunteering can't be fun! High school mentors must be juniors or seniors and be able to meet with a child 6-8 hours a month. Together they plan activities according to their interests and time schedules. Now you have an excuse to have fun! Go hiking, fishing, swimming, shoot hoops, go to the movies or just hang out. When was the last time you went skateboarding? It doesn't matter what you do, only that you spend precious time with a child who will learn, by example, that someone cares.

Description
Volunteers mentor children, 6-21 years old, in one-to-one relationships. Mentors serve as role models helping the children increase their self-confidence, develop social skills, and reach their full potential. Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is about simple, magical moments like... going to your first ball game, catching butterflies, learning to play "chopsticks". As a "Big" you are simply a friend to a child. If you know how to have fun, you know how to be a Big Brother or Big Sister!
