Position: Volunteer Home Organizer
Location: Various homes in Johnson & South Jackson Counties
Purpose: To de-clutter and organize home of older seniors so they can live safely and independently.
Duties Include:
- Go through the home and target problem areas
- Work with homeowner to determine what to keep and what to get rid of
- Help organize the home in such a way that increases safety and accessibility
- Keep homeowner's wants and needs in mind at all times
Requirements:
Time Commitment: Home Organizers are requested on an as-needed basis depending on their schedule. Appointments can be made on weekdays or weekends, and usually take a couple of hours. Repeat visits may be requested.
Qualifications: Dependability, friendliness, and willingness to help others. Reliable transportation to and from appointments. Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Other Requirements: Must complete volunteer application, pass a background check and complete a training session.
Benefits: We provide mileage reimbursement and host social events so you can meet other volunteers. Our volunteers also enjoy building meaningful relationships with the seniors they help.
