Help out at Baltimore Green Work's 11th Annual Green Week at the EcoFest, an all day festival featuring bike rides around the resevoir, hands on workshops, local food and exhibitors, and music all day long!

Set-up & Registration: For the early(ish) birds who like to goof around and have a good time while meeting all the people who are part of the this event!

Compost Crew: We love trash! Actually, we love that our trash is 100% compostable and recyclable! Why do we need you? Because corn oil cups and forks look just like plastic, even though they are compostable. Help guide the waste into it's rightful basket.

Super Man (& Woman) Safety Guards: We even have the orange vest for you to wear! Help guide attendees and drivers to where they need to be and if you see signs of trouble, help to contact one of the organizers so that we can provide the necessary assistance.

Bike Rides Around the Resevoir (and through the park?): If you are skilled in fixing a bike tire flat, don't mind helping to direct from time to time, like talking to lots of new people, then we need you! These folks will help by getting people on their bikes for the ride around the reservoir.

Wild Child Leader: One of the favorite aspects of EcoFest is the Children in Nature area filled with hollow log water chutes, swings hung from trees, bamboo huts, and so much more. If you are a kid at heart and want to help out, this is the place to be. (Volunteers must be 16 years or older in this area.)

Music Makers: We will be making on our kind of music this year! Help lead the way making (and decorating) shakers, drums, and kazoos!

Volunteer Coordinators: We need at least two people who are dedicated and organized to help get everyone to where they need to be. Letting people know they are appreciated and making sure they are armed with information is what we're going for here.

Specialty Volunteers: First-Aid Nurses

Mission Statement

Baltimore Green Works (BGW) is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and run by minimal staff and volunteers. BGW strives to embrace Maryland's diverse communities by offering programming that educates on sustainable ways of living.

Description

Every spring for the last six years, Baltimore Green Works brought you the Ecofest and Baltimore Green Week. In 2008, Baltimore Green Week changed its name to Baltimore Green Works and began to offer more free and low-cost year round programming. So far, we've added the Ecoball and the Sustainable Speaker Series. New York Times best-selling author Michael Pollan, author of In Defense of Food, the Enoch Pratt Free Library, and 978 of our friends helped kick off the series!
