This volunteer position provides opportunities for a person with experience in retail management, an interest in books, computer skills, and time to oversee a small, profitable library bookstore. Bring consistency, supervision, and wise management to lead a solid group of very friendly, motivated and dedicated volunteers. Oversee recruiting, training, and scheduling. Keep the store current in pricing and marketing of donated books to maximize profits. Be physically able to move boxes of stock. Devise special sales, and displays for overstock or special collection material.

The purpose of the organization is to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs; to stimulate gifts and bequests of books and money; and to provide financial assistance and to support volunteer in-library services needed to meet the library's daily operational requirements and material purchase.

Description

The Friends of the Sun City Library is an auxilliary support group for the Sun City Library, Menifee, California. Our volunteers operate a bookstore and hold fundraisers, the profits from which support the library's programs and purchases of collection, media, and software.
