The National Association of Letter Carrier's is one of the largest food drives of the year, and we need you to help make it happen! The past two years have been virtual drives and we are ready to resume Back in Action at the postal stations. Volunteers will be stationed at different local postal offices around Montgomery/Prattville to help receive food as it comes into the dock. Each station will have at least two MAFB employees on site to help guide you. Volunteers need to be in place by 1:30 pm. Depending on how much food we receive, you will wrap up around 5:30 to 7:30 pm depending on the station that you are at. Individuals and groups are welcome, but participants must be at least 18 years old and should be comfortable lifting at least twenty pounds. It’s a fun, busy afternoon of service and we’d love to have you there! This will be the 30th annual NALC drive - 2022. The Montgomery Area Food Bank serves the needy across Alabama through member agencies by soliciting, procuring and distributing excess food, grocery and household products.
Description
We are a private, non-profit organization that, since 1986, has been providing emergency food assistance to our neighbors in need. As a warehouse distributor of surplus, donated food, as well as USDA product and some purchased products, we distribute food to needy clients through our partner agencies, who work with us to eliminate hunger and its harmful effects via special programs. We currently serve 35 counties across Alabama.
