Project: Collect and Assemble Grocery Kits

Overview: Many people in our community are suffering from hunger. Food is a necessity that must be present in order to ensure the health and healing of our families and seniors. With your donation, you will be able to offer a family or a senior meals that will bridge the gap of hunger in our community. Our Public Health Nurses work closely with families and seniors to help them obtain food security.

Kit Includes:

  • 2 Canned Soups
  • 2 Applesauce Cups
  • 1 Box of Pasta
  • 1 Pasta Sauce
  • 2 Mac and Cheese style boxed dinners
  • 1 Jar of Peanut Butter
  • 1 Canned Tuna
  • 1 Canned Vegetable
  • 1 Canned Beans
  • 1 Canned Fruit
  • 1 Box of Cereal (Unsweetened Type)

Please make sure that items are not expired and are unopened. You may also want to include a Cub or Rainbow Gift Card to assist the family in obtaining perishable items.

The mission of the MVNA is to improve lives at every age through home and community health services.

Description

MVNA is a non-profit home health and public health care provider in the Twin Cities Metro Area. Since 1902, MVNA's staff has helped people heal in the their home, serving as a safety net provider to clients of all ages, providing prenatal, parenting, chronic disease management, prevention, wellness, end-of-life and bereavement services.

In 2013, MVNA served 18,955 individuals, conducting more than 81,800 home visits, providing interpreters for 30 languages. MVNA also gave over 90,000 vaccinations.

To help clients' health, safety and development, we have a program called Community of Caring that provides non-medical health a safety support items.We invite the community to become involved in meeting our clients' non-medical needs by donating or volunteering.
