The Office of the Public Defender is conducting mock trials for new lawyers. Mock trials are excellent learning experiences not only for the lawyers, but for jurors. We need 5-10 per trial.
As a volunteer juror, you will have the opportunity to listen to and deliberate on a criminal case just like jurors at the courthouse. You will also have the opportunity to provide feedback to the lawyer. This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity. Each trial will last about four hours. You can only volunteer for one of the following mock trials:
Trial 1: Thursday, March 5th, 2020 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM (Sandwiches and drinks)
Trial 2: Friday, March 6th, 2020, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM (coffee and pastries/bagels)
The trials will be held Downtown, at the Bank of America Building, 450 B Street, San Diego, 92101. (Across the Street from Paul Mitchell) Unlike previous mock trials, the building is under construction and there is no parking at our building currently.
Participants must be at least 16 years of age.
