Description
At accessAbilities....it’s about possibilities
....not disabilities.
At accessAbilities, our vision is to empower people with unique abilities to live life to its fullest. Independence means different things to different people. As a result, all of our services are geared toward empowering individuals with physical and/or cognitive disabilities to have the supports they need to live in their homes and to enable them to participate in community life to the extent that they would like.
For 55 years, accessAbilities has been strengthening independent lives by providing first-rate services for people with disabilities in Armstrong, Indiana, and Westmoreland counties. Originally founded by local families who had children diagnosed with cerebral palsy, the program was known as UCP of Western Pennsylvania.
Today, accessAbilities continues to build upon that legacy with a name that better reflects the wide scope of services offered by the agency which focuses on building educational foundations to foster life-long learning, independence, and assuring that the voices of people with disabilities are heard.
At accessAbilities, we focus on the individual. We believe that everyone is unique and has unique needs, so we work with consumers and their families to develop individualized service plans.
