ORGANIZATION: Family Centers

  • 6 people are interested

The Den for Grieving Kids is seeking greeters to assist with the on-going nights of service program. The Den is a program entirely run by trained volunteers who work with individuals and families on issues pertaining to grief. Greeters are a vital role in the program and are responsible for setting up the family-style meal that is served to all participants and for also for welcoming participants as they arrive for the evening.

Greeters are needed from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. two evenings per month (Mondays or Wednesdays), and are asked to commit to a year of service to maintain continuity with the children and families who are clients of the Den. Den Greeters are also given the opportunity to attend the tranings that are held twice annually (in the fall and spring) to expand their knowledge of the program. At this time the Den is not actively seeking new greeters, but if you are interested in hearing more about the Den please send us an inquiry.

Mission Statement

Family Centers' mission is to empower children, adults, families and communities to realize their potential. Our NAEYC accredited preschools, school-based social work, parental education and adolescent counseling services, give families the resources they need to ensure their children have the bright beginnings they deserve. A comprehensive network of counseling and support services is also instrumental in helping families in crisis work toward a successful resolution. Vocational training, housing resources, counseling and self sufficiency programs also help low-income people and those with long-term mental illness realize their dreams of living independently. Meanwhile, our senior outreach programs encourage lifelong learning, socialization and support.
