The VNA Hospice of Philadelphia is in need of individuals who are willing to share some of their precious time supporting other Veterans who are terminally ill.

Training is provided to prepare you to work directly with veterans and families wherever they reside to provide services such as: Visitation, companionship, emotional support and caregiver relief.

Hospice focuses on quality of life, providing the most effective medical care to control symptoms and pain, offering emotional and spiritual support to patients and those who love them. Patients are treated with dignity while focusing on living each day to the fullest. Become a hospice volunteer and touch the life of both the patient and family with companionship.

Description

The VNA Hospice of Philadelphia enables patients with a serious, progressive illness to live at home as comfortably as possible. We also service patients in nursing homes and personal care facilities. The hospice team includes nurses, social workers, home-health aides, volunteers, chaplains, and a bereavement coordinator. Palliative care goes beyond traditional services, providing expert pain management, pastoral care, respite, and counseling to patients and their families.
