Volunteer with the Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen on an ongoing basis.
Community Outreach volunteers will support Komen Dallas County’s efforts to promote breast self-awareness and to connect Dallas County residents with available breast health resources.
Responsibilities include representing the Dallas County Affiliate at health fairs, community events, Affiliate special events, and supporting the staff on miscellaneous office projects (including but not limited to data entry and answering phones).
Qualifications include:
- Outgoing with effective communication skills
- Willingness to learn breast health information
- Timely and dependable
- Available to volunteer during the weekday, evenings, or weekends
- Possess reliable transportation
- Ability to carry and transport display materials, a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Belief in the importance of the mission of Susan G. Komen

Description
Susan G. Komen Dallas County is the local source for funding breast cancer education, screening and treatment in Dallas County, serving thousands of Dallas County women in 30 cities. Through events like the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure, Susan G. Komen Dallas County invests 75 percent of the funds raised to support vital local breast health services, and dedicates the remaining 25 percent to national research to find the cures. Since 1992, Komen Dallas County has invested more than $27.5 million in local community programs that provide life-saving breast health, and breast cancer services such as: screening mammograms, diagnostics, treatment, patient navigation, transportation, and education to uninsured and underinsured residents of Dallas County. To date, the Affiliate has also invested nearly $8.5 million in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
