Hospice Volunteers play a key role on the Hospice Team. Hospice Volunteers provide emotional support, empathy, respite and other supportive services to hospice patients and their families. Volunteers can sit and talk to patients, read to them, help record their memoirs, listen with compassion, help the family and/or just be there is so many different invaluable ways for patients and/or families. Minimum age for volunteering is 18. Volunteers are asked to offer 2 or more hours a week as a hospice volunteer. We are also in need of assistance with our bereavement program, office tasks and our community aromatherapy clinics. We currently have hospice volunteer opportunities in Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties in California; specifically Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Santa Barbara, Solvang Lompoc, Goleta, Carpinteria, Valencia, Canyon county, Newhall, Sylmar, North Hollywood and San Fernando Valley and close surrounding areas. Training is provided free of charge.
