Longer life is a blessing. But it can also be a challenge for the members of our community who are struggling with isolation. They are our neighbors, our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and friends. All too often their simple needs for companionship are not met. Friendly visitors provides just a bit of companionship and non-medical caregiving to those in need.

If you are a friendly, caring individual over the age of 55 who enjoys spending time with older adults in your community - we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!

Flexible assignments. Own transportation required.

Locations available all over Livingston County - particular need in the Dansville area.

RSVP volunteers are covered with supplemental accident and liability insurance at no cost while volunteering.

AmeriCorps Seniors recruits and places volunteers age 55 and older in activities that address critical community needs in Livingston County, NY, Volunteers serve as drivers, coaches of health and wellness workshops and advocates for older adults in nursing homes among other placements. .
