As a friendly volunteer at The New Jewish Home, Manhattan you could be that person who will listen, that much needed friend by spending time visiting elders, socializing, playing cards, reading to the visually impaired, writing letters, and/or escorting residents to and off the unit locations such as the garden, library, aviary, lobby, etc. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a steady weekly schedule and a minimum time commitment of 40 hours (can be spaced as little as 1 or 2 hours a week for an on-going basis).
