"Terrific Tuesdays" Day Club is a program providing respite (a break) for those caring for people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Research proves that cognitive and social stimulation improves mood and delays cognitive regression in daily living for individuals with dementia. Caregivers also benefit with a break to recharge, relax, maintain relationships with friends, and restore their own physical and mental health by keeping up with personal doctor visits and more.

The Day Club is hosted by Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler and operates on Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Volunteers are paired with a "Best Friend" (participant) and learn their "life story." Knowledge about your new friend will assist with trust building and effective communication while doing activities together during Day Club.

Groups of children and teens are welcome. Groups who wish to provide music and entertainment are also encouraged!
