Serving Our Seniors (SOS) (formerly known as Mid-Cities Care Corp) provides transportation for senior citizens to scheduled routine medical appointments and "quality of life" rides (grocery shopping, banking, etc.) within Northeast Tarrant County cities of: Bedford, Colleyville, Euless, Grapevine, Haltom City, Hurst, Keller, N Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Southlake and Watauga.

Transportation is provided by caring volunteers who provide their vehicle, time, and gas to transport senior neighbors.

A typical volunteer drive includes picking the client up at their residence, driving the client to the appointment, staying with them the duration of the appointment, and returning the client to their residence. An individual with 3 hours a month to spare is considered a potential volunteer candidate for SOS. The average time for a volunteer drive is 3 hours. Volunteers have the flexibility to accept or decline drive opportunities based upon their personal schedules.

All volunteers must pass criminal background check and have a clean driving record.

SOS does not income qualify clients and never charges for services because we recognize that most of our clients are on limited income.

Mission Statement

The mission of Mid-Cities Care Corps (MCCC) is to preserve the independence of senior neighbors in Northeast Tarrant County.

Description

We have a vision that with a little help, most senior citizens can maintain their independence and live in their own homes. We accompish this through three key program areas: Transportation, Helping Hands, and Social Outreach.Transportation provides rides for senior citizens to routine doctors appointments. A friendly volunteer picks them up, transports them, and waits with them during their appointment...just like a family member would. Helping Hands provide minor home repair, lawn and garden maintenance, and wheelchair ramps. Social Outreach includes monthly social events and a Phone a Friend program where we link seniors with common interests together. We find that our volunteers are just a blessed by their time spent with our clients and our clients are blessed by them! Come check us out!
