We offer many flexible opportunities to volunteer at AgeSong (www.agesong.com) elder communities in San Francisco and Oakland.
Our mission: to create theraputic environments; programs that serve people in being who they are.
Our vision: to reassert the value of aging and of being an elder.
Our care is rooted in a holistic and comprehensive approach and volunteers support the emotional and spiritual well being of community members through one-on-one contact and group activities and outings.
Options include:
- Join our companionship program and be paired up with a resident to spend time Do something you both enjoy (chess, card games, a stroll, going out for coffee, making art).
- Lead a group in art, music, or any other skill you have.
- Assising us on outings to the opera, ballet, parks, museums and other cultural events.
- Recieve all the training and support you need and enjoy a unusual and satisfying opportunity to connect with an elder.

Description
Pacific Institute, founded in 1993, is a fully qualified non-profit organization in San Francisco dedicated to finding new ways of learning and teaching in counseling, education and research in the field of health and care. The Institute as a worldview cutting-edge center addresses health and social services from a holistic, client-centered perspective, helping individuals create healthy lifestyles honoring the spiritual, psychological, and physical dimensions of living. Licensed health and social services professionals, interns, and trainees work in concert with other community organizations and volunteers to provide a variety of services in the fields of education, health practice, and research.
