Companion Volunteers
Volunteers help promote Pikes Peak Hospice by providing emotional support to patients and families in a variety of settings. In home care, volunteers spend quality time with patients and offer brief, but much needed respite for families. Long term care volunteers offer socialization to patients who might not receive it otherwise, often taking them out of their rooms to participate in community activities. Our sitter volunteers sit with agitated patients that need redirection, and our vigil volunteers support actively dying patients and their families in a very special way. All volunteers represent the heart of hospice and provide the compassion patients deserve.
