Mission Statement
'Providing programs and services to meet the urgent and ongoing needs of grandparents and other relative caregivers raising at-risk children.
Description
GAP's services improve the health and quality of life of kinship family members by addressing their emotional and psychological stressors; meeting their basic needs; and improving their knowledge, skills and abilities. Our programs enable grandparents to create a safe and secure home environment for abused, neglected or abandoned children. GAP's programs and services target and serve two distinct segments of our population: abused, neglected and abandoned children and grandparents and other relatives who have accepted primary responsibility for raising these children.
Although our executive office is in Canoga park, GAP holds weekly support group meetings throughout Los Angeles County for relative caregivers.
