Mission Statement
"Helping Neighbors in Need" Hinsdale Community Service provides interim assistance to people of our service area in need of food, housing assistance, clothing, counseling and other emergency services. Staff members and volunteers also help with the needs specific to senior residents of our communities including home visits, transportation and prescription payment assistance. Our service area includes Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Westmont, Willowbrook and adjoining unincorporated areas.
Description
Hinsdale Community Service's Food Pantry allows low-income families from our seven-village area to visit our pantry and select the groceries they need. When available we also give out paper products and cleaning supplies. Gifts of food, household neccessities, or grocery store gift certificates help our families to purchase perishables such as milk, eggs, cheese and juice. Hinsdale offers senior service casemanagement such as transporation to appointments, senior companionship, meals, advocacy and referrals.
