Want to address the needs of the hungry and vulnerable senior citizens in your area? Home Meal Service, Inc. needs drivers to pick-up and deliver meals to homebound citizens in Newark, Sodus, Macedon, Palmyra, North Rose, Williamson, Ontario, Clyde and Lyons, NY. This is a very important service that helps the elderly 'age in place' rather than resort to assisted living facilities.
Volunteers are assigned routes that take 60-90 minutes and are in their neighborhood. The assignments are flexible as to how many routes the volunteers wants to do per month. Mileage reimbursement is offered.
Wayne CAP's RSVP program is recruiting for the Meals on Wheels program. Area office for the Aging supports both programs.
