JA Classroom volunteers
JA classroom volunteers help students make the connection between the classroom and "real world"

Prepare our next generation for the world of entrepreneurship by leading the JA Be Entrepreneurial readiness program. By sharing only ONE hour a week for 5 - 7 weeks, you can help high school students develop the critical work skills they need to succeed in their future careers

JA Be Entrepreneurial introduces students to the essential elements of a practical business plan and then challenges them to start an entrepreneurial venture while still in high school.

Volunteers lead a total of five to seven 45-min lessons with the students. Lessons are taught once per week for 5 weeks.

  • Flexible scheduling will allow the volunteer to work directly with the classroom teacher to schedule the lessons at a date/time convenient for each.
  • Volunteers work with the same group of students each week, leading an interactive workshop.
  • Junior Achievement supplies all materials and resources for our volunteers to successfully engage the students in the classroom.
  • New Volunteers attend a volunteer orientation prior to teaching where they will receive the program and activity materials for their class.

You will make a difference in the lives of a classroom of students! Volunteer mentors are the magic behind our programs. In fact, 1 in 3 JA alumni credits their JA experience to influencing their career decision. And, 1 in 5 JA alumni has gone on to work in the field of their JA volunteer!
