Advocate provide confidential counseling and advocacy for elders age 60 or older and their caregivers.

Advocates assist seniors and thair caregivers by providing information and assistance about available programs, applications for programs, resolve claims with Social Security, Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, pensions and other benefits.

Advocates assist by giving information on the telephone, in person or at assigned locations in the community. Advocates can also assist with presentations on benefit information to small groups of seniors and their caregivers.

The agency is dedicated to building a community that supports older residents and allows them to age in place with dignity, security, and enhanced quality of life. The range of services provided includes congregate meals, home-delivered meals, benefits counseling, care coordination, legal assistance, long-term care Ombudsman nutrition and counseling and training, caregiver support, and transportation services.

Description

Our organization is providing free, one-on-one assistance to people with Medicare and their families via telephone and face-to-face sessions, public education presentations and other programs. Through the CMS MedicareRx Volunteer Initiative, volunteers at our organization will be given the opportunity to work directly with people with Medicare to help them understand their prescription drug plan options and join a plan that will best suit their prescription drug needs if they choose.
