Volunteers needed to enhance community awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, the Alzheimer’s Association and the WNY Chapter, providing information on relevant programs and services, and options for care and support available to caregivers, families, community members and organizations. As a Volunteer Representative of WNY Chapter, awareness to be spread by distributing information and answering questions at Health & Wellness Events in the community. Transportation required.
Training provided to all those interested.
Volunteers are needed throughout the Western New York's eight county region!

Description
We provide programs and services to those with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia and their families. The Western New York Chapter serves all eight counties of WNY including Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming. We provide care consultations, a 24-hour helpline (1.800.272.3900), safety services, early stage programs, and education programs for caregivers, healthcare professionals and the general public. The Alzheimer's Association is also the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research. Together, we are elevating research, public policy, and awareness to unprecedented levels in pursuit of better treatments, a cure of a way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
