Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is a nonprofit food rescue organization dedicated to eliminating both food waste and hunger. Our food rescue events typically last 30 minutes and take place all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
Help your community stop food waste and fight hunger by bringing excess food to homeless shelters. You will be walking with trays of excess food, which would have been thrown out by the restaurant, to the nearest homeless shelter.
A Rescuer Associate commits to leading 10 food rescue events each week for a minimum of 3 months. They always lead the same events every week. Rescuer Associates are trained and paid $8 per food rescue event.

Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
