Vital Theatre Company is seeking Volunteer Ushers for the Vital Children's Theatre. Vital Children's Theatre shows run Saturdays and Sundays at 11am and 1pm. Usher duties include helping set up the theatre and lobby in preperation for the audience arriving, greeting our really fun audience of parents and children, and helping them find necessary accomadations such as the box office and the restrooms or a place to leave their strollers, and generally being a friendly, welcoming presence and a good face for Vital Theatre Company.

Mission Statement
Vital Theatre Company is made up of a group of artists who believe that participation in and the making of theatre is a necesary component of their lives. They also believe that the making of and sharing of theatre is VITAL to every child and adult in today's complex world for their emotional and spiritual vitality. We are a nation that is slowly losing its culture-cuts to arts programs and arts-in-education programs are threatening to rear up a new generation who do not understand the importance of the arts. Without theatre, our culture heritage will be bleak indee. We feel that the theatre is vitally important to people of all ages, color and creeds. We, as a community of artists, are compelled to do this work and compelled to share this work so that dialogue can occur. We want to create lively dialogue between children and parents, students and teachers, young actors and seasoned professionals, audience members and actors/writers/designers, Vital staff and artists-thus creating a stronger community. If one child can be touched by one of our plays, if one adult can be touched and/or moved, if they can make a discovery or their behavior and/or pre-conceived judgements can change, our theatre is important and vital.
Description
Vital Theatre Company produces Main Stage, off-off Broadway theatrical productions of both new and existing plays. Vital also develops new plays and emerging playwrights throught both its playwrights' workshop and "Vital Signs: New Works Festival", a annual festival of new works. Vital Children's Theatre commissions new musicals each season for young children and their families. Finally "Vital Voices: Arts In Education" is an educational outreach program for students in and around the NYC area.
