We are looking for volunteers throughout MA, RI, NH and ME for this program!
About the My Friend Matty Program: My Friend Matty is in-school epilepsy awareness program designed specifically for children. The My Friend Matty Program not only builds epilepsy awareness, but is also a fun and exciting way to educate children on the significance of acceptance and the value of celebrating diversity. It empowers students as they learn what to do in case they witness someone having a seizure.
My Friend Matty Community Education Volunteers will visit preschool and elementary school classrooms throughout MA, ME, RI, and NH to share our My Friend Matty educational program with students.
Trainings are held the first Thursday of each month at 12:30 and 6:30 pm.
Location: EFNE Office - 335 Main St., Wilmington, MA or ONLINE!
My Friend Matty Presentation Components:
- Volunteers lead students by reading the book My Friend Matty
- Volunteers answer questions using fun age/grade appropriate materials and activities as a guide.
Length of Appointment: Variable. Volunteers can sign up to present to just one classroom, or stay involved over a longer period of time.
Time Commitment: The training session will be approximately 45 minutes long. Classroom presentations are 30-45 minutes long.
Qualifications:
Comfortable with public speaking
Reliable
Able to secure transportation to your assigned school
