Kindred Hospice Friendly Face Visiting volunteers have the primary role to provide non-medical support in patients’ homes, receiving hospice services, in their community. Our service area includes the following Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, and Tuscaloosa counties. You will only be asked to visit people in the areas where you feel most comfortable. A small list of activities is listed below:
- Read a book, bible, newspaper, Sunday School lesson etc.
- Listen and talk with the patient
- Look, label, and sort photos
- Create a memoir, write letters, sort mail
- Sing and share music with a patient
- Share your Sunday School lesson
- Play games
As a Kindred Friendly Face Visiting volunteer you will receive all training with no cost to you and your schedule can be as flexible as you like.
